MSc in Construction Project Management

The MSc Construction Project Management programme at Heriot-Watt University equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to develop successful careers as professional project managers in the construction industry and beyond. For graduates with a first degree in a built environment subject it can provide a competitive edge in a fierce employment market. For architects, engineers and other professionals it can provide a move into project management. The programme increasingly attracts those whose qualifications and experience lie outside the field of construction, but recognise the career opportunities that exist for suitably qualified Construction Project Management graduates. The programme is accredited by RICS providing graduates the opportunity not only to achieve academic and scientific knowledge of the topic but also attain the appropriate professional qualifications.
The programme MSc in Construction Project Management has a typical duration of 2 years part –time. There are three study periods per year: January – April, May – August, September – December. Within each study period a student can choose to undertake between 1 to three courses. Each course is accessed via written coursework and examinations. The programme consists of 8 courses and a dissertation:

  • People & Organisational Management in the Built Environment

There are 3 intakes per year: September, January and May. In order to take part in one the programmes the application should be submitted at least 15 days prior to the date of the intake. For the application the following will be needed:

  • Degree certificate
  • CV
  • One reference letter
  • One colour photograph
  • Completed application form
