MSc in Quantity Surveying

The postgraduate programme in Quantity Surveying is addressed to construction professionals and graduates who are interested to pursue career in the relevant field. The programme is accredited by RICS providing graduates the opportunity not only to achieve academic and scientific knowledge of the topic but also attain the appropriate professional qualifications.
The programme MSc in Quantity Sureveying has a typical duration of 2 years part –time. There are three study periods per year: January – April, May – August, September – December. Within each study period a student can choose to undertake between 1 to three courses. Each course is accessed via written coursework and examinations. The programme consists of 8 courses and a dissertation:

  • Value and Risk Management
  • People and Organisational Management in the Built Environment
  • Contracts and Procurement
  • Construction Financial Management
  • Real Estate Economics
  • Construction Practice and Information Technology
  • Research Dissertation
Heriot – Watt University is an accredited UK higher education institution so the degrees it awards are the recognized for their high academic standards in all countries of the world. Furthermore, through Heriot-Watt University’s partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the MSc programmes in Greece are fully accredited by the RICS. This demonstrates that the programme meets the quality principles of the RICS and provides graduate entry to the profession for students who successfully complete the programme, with all the associated career benefits this provides. There are 3 intakes per year: September, January and May. In order to take part in one the programmes the application should be submitted at least 15 days prior to the date of the intake. For the application the following will be needed:

  • Degree certificate
  • CV
  • One reference letter
  • One colour photograph
  • Completed application form
